“Space” was created with the following inner space in mind: A place of just being, a place of non-doing, where the breath takes center stage and the outside world slips into the mist of a fairytale, while our inner light expands. I’ve placed the following quote by Gabrielle Roth in two locations within the painting, but somewhat impossible to be read under the paint:
“Each of us is a moving center, a space of divine mystery. And though we spend most of our time on the surface in the daily details of ordinary existence, most of us hunger to connect to this space within, to break through to bliss, to be swept away into something bigger than us…”
The development of this painting became a light and playful experience. In between layers of paint, I had fun adding marks of pencils, woodies, and charcoal.
The sides of the canvas are textured and painted to match the rest of the background. The signature and date appear on the side.
