“Dichotomy” is the third canvas in the series of Elements. With the goal of getting back to a focus of adding raw canvas in my paintings, I added a simple grid of the cloth squares. My experience developing the pages of a concertina sketchbook has inspired this painting and this series.

The sides of the canvas are textured and painted to match the rest of the background. The signature and date appear on the side.
