“Opening to the Next Chapter” was created as a new year was about to begin and it was inspired by the idea that we would be starting to write the next chapter of our lives. The painting is built with a cloth folded open to reveal the place to begin writing that new chapter.
The words below are some of what is written on the piece of cloth on the left side of the painting:
"The chapter before you has not yet been written. The pages you’ve already filled are the past and lie behind you. You are on the precipice of your future. And the time is NOW to begin creating that future. Now is the transition between the chapters you’ve already written and the chapter you are about to begin. Can you feel a sense of the possibilities before you? How would you like this new chapter to unfold? You hold the tools to create it... And each moment can be viewed as a new beginning. So, turn the page on yesterday. Your next chapter begins here…"
