NOTE BOOK is a painting focused on the notes of Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto which I have loved since I was a young child. The inspiration for this painting was simply the joy of a play on words with the painting’s title.

The printed sheet music shows up throughout the painting. Three layers of prepared cloth come together to form the book, filled with music notes and attached to the painted canvas. Two additional pieces of sheet music were used, one directly attached to the stretched canvas and the second shows up on the horizontal cloth element at the bottom of the canvas.

The sides of this canvas are painted to match the painting. It is signed and dated on the side of the canvas and within the constructed book.
